Live from Music Row Wednesday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. –  host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael in studio for another edition of Crom’s Commentary.
Leahy: It is that time of day again. It is time for today’s commentary. Crom, what do you have for us?
Carmichael: Well, Michael, I have been watching Biden’s foreign policy decisions. I’ve been especially interested in not just Biden’s foreign policy decisions, but also what Xi Jinping is doing in China. And Xi Jinping, by the way, is trying to and he’s very close to accomplishing his goal of reestablishing his position as a dictator with the same power that Mao Zedong had.
And the difference is that China today is a much more powerful country because our country has allowed it for decades to steal our intellectual property and then exploit that intellectual property.
And Biden has had a long Zoom call with Xi Jinping, who by the way, has not left his own country in many many months for any international deals. He could think that there are threats because other Chinese officials do leave the country of China.
So it’s not as if the official dome of China is scared of COVID or concerned about COVID or the spread of COVID because it’s only Xi Jinping who remains in China all the time. But the recent Zoom call and the things that Biden said are so troubling but completely unsurprising.
He says that we’re going to tamp down tensions between our country. And he essentially told China that Biden won’t do anything if China were to invade Taiwan, but has more or less indicated, we really wish you wouldn’t.
And he said, because we strongly support the one-China policy, and we absolutely oppose Taiwanese independence. And he more or less likened anyone in Taiwan who called for an independent Taiwan almost call them white supremacists.
When you look at what Biden’s policies are with China, with the Houthis who are now wreaking havoc in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia and surrounding country areas, if you look at what he’s doing with Iran, which is strengthening the Ayatollah and the Islamists.
Afghanistan, we know about North Korea, Central, and South America. There isn’t a place in the world where things are getting better.
